LAUREN B. PROPER
A native of Long Island, New York, with roots across the country, Lauren has always been passionate about empowering marginalized communities. Her life’s calling is to help others, a purpose that has fueled both her personal and professional journey. With a sharp focus on life skills development, in-depth community assessments, curriculum and program design, and intercultural exchange, she is committed to building strong community teams capable of sustaining programs long after her direct involvement.
Gifted with a natural talent for words from an early age, Lauren has channeled her creativity into the arts by developing culturally sensitive curricula for both youth and senior communities. Her artistic work spans spoken word, poetry, and short stories, and reflects her deep commitment to storytelling and empowerment.
Lauren proudly served in the U.S. Army after high school and later volunteered with the U.S. Peace Corps in the Youth in Development program in her 50s, becoming one of the 2016 John F. Kennedy award winners. She holds a B.A. in Human Services Administration from the University of Baltimore and has worn many hats throughout her career — including Project Developer, Program Manager, Facilitator, Outreach Coordinator, and Volunteer. Her work has spanned school districts, nonprofits across the U.S., and the Travel & Hospitality industries.
She continues to make a lasting impact on individuals and communities through hands-on engagement — offering mentorship, consulting, advising, public speaking, workshops, performances, and panel participation.
